A Cole Worl': RIP 3D
As we mourn the tragic passing of Dexter '3D' Pottinger, people, let us stop the foolishness right now, 'bout 'if the neighbours couldn't help, and if neighbour's nuh faas inna people business again'.
Dexter has started a legacy that needs continuation, and people should be focused on that and not trying to tear down other people for nothing.
With that said, I thought at times the 'gone too soon' statements were clichés at best, but if there was a time I would say smaddy really gone too soon it is now.
Dexter 3D, because of you, Jamaica's fashion landscape has definitely changed. You not only cut cloth, but you've worn those cloth with style, style that will be no more.
Clothes will never be worn the same again. You were one of the first Jamaican designer that mek people get excited about fashion.
Every time people see you, they would only imagine what 'wool'inary skill you had employed in whetting their appetites in your kitchen.
You mek everything fashionable, from the hair to the clothes to just about having a presence. You could've taped two scandal bags together and wear it and it would've become a trendy fashion wear.
You were like a bright light in a dark place, far far away. Few acknowledged your importance in fashion, but you boldly wore and went with pride where many questioned.
You have left an indelible mark, a void that will take many years to fill, big shoes to fill and a path that few have ventured. Walk good Dexter, yuh gone way too soon fe true.
