British national hit with drug charges
Detectives assigned to the Border Security Branch arrested and charged one male under the Dangerous Drugs Act at the Sangster International Airport, St James on Thursday.
He is 58-year-old Ian Mowbray of Birmingham, England. He was arrested and charged with Possession of Ganja, Dealing in Ganja and Attempting to Export Ganja.
Reports are that about 2:20 p.m., Mowbray checked in to board a flight destined to Brussels.
A canine detected irregularities in the chute area and his luggage was escorted to the gate area where it was searched.
His luggage was found to contain a false compartment which had a package containing ganja weighing eight ounces.
Mowbray is scheduled to appear before the St James Parish Court on Thursday, June 21.
