UPDATED: Munga hurt in Mandela Highway crash... Canadian woman killed

January 12, 2019

Dancehall entertainer Munga was involved in a fatal accident on Saturday morning.
The accident, which took place on the Mandela Highway, in the vicinity of Ferry in St Catherine, claimed the life of a Canadian woman.

The Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) of the Jamaica Constabulary Force said that the dead woman has been identified as 26-year-old Tashana Cumbermack.

The police said that Munga was driving a Toyota Axio, about 5:50 Saturday morning, which crashed into a Suzuki Vitara.

The Vitara, in turn, hit a bus in which Cumbermack was travelling.

The artiste, whose given name is Damion Rhoden, and one of his passengers as well as Cumbermack were rushed to hospital where Cumbermack was pronounced dead.

Munga is said to be in stable condition.

EDITOR'S NOTE: This story has been updated to reflect that Munga was driving the Toyota Axio and not the Suzuki Vitara. He lost control of his car, hit the Vitara, which then hit the Hiace bus in which Cumbermack was a passenger.
