Mawga Don working on debut album
St Elizabeth-based reggae artiste Mawga Don has been creating waves since the release of his thought-provoking single, 'Respect', last year on the J Keyz label.
"Respect has opened many doors for me, and I'm working very hard to take my career to the next level. I'm also getting a lot of support from many of the veterans in the music industry. Luciano recently invited me on stage to perform at Rebel Salute, which gave me massive exposure, and I am very grateful to him for the opportunity," said Mawga Don.
He is currently working on several projects, including an album with ace producer/musician Paul 'Computer Paul' Henton of Boot Camp Records.
"I don't want to be an artiste who shines just for a moment and disappear; I want to have a long and successful career. That's why I am working with a top producer like Computer Paul, who knows how to create hit music," he said.
The album, which is slated to be released this summer, will feature collaborations with Luciano, Capleton and Warrior King
"The album is coming together very nicely, so far we've recorded some excellent tracks. I'm confident that it's going to do very well," he said.
The hard-working singjay is also getting ready to drop two new singles, Bad Prayer (Ruff Kut Music) and Soft Voice (Black Colaz Entertainment). Both songs are slated to be released next month and will be featured on the album.
