Prisoner allegedly offered cell phone and ganja as meal
A woman who tried to smuggle two ounces of ganja, a cellular phone and a charger into a police lock-up under the guise that she was giving an inmate rice and chicken has been charged.
Karen Barrett of March Pen Road, St Catherine, was charged after she allegedly attempted to smuggle the contraband to a relative.
Barrett was held when she visited the facility last Sunday's where her son was being held.
The police said that during the examination of the meal, it was observed that the container had a hidden compartment. When checked, the compartment was found to contain the week, cellular phone and a charger.
Barrett was subsequently charged by Sergeant Ronald Jones.
