$4 million worth of ganja seized
More than 1,000 pounds of ganja, with an estimated value of $4 million was seized by the Narcotics police during an operation in Parottee, St Elizabeth, on Sunday.
Reports are that at about 9:30 p.m., a police team was conducting operations in the area, when they saw a group of men offloading several knitted plastic bags from a Hiace bus. On seeing the police, the men ran and three were captured.
The Hiace bus was searched and 24 knitted bags containing compressed ganja was found. The Hiace bus along with a Honda CRV and a Toyota Altis motor car were seized.
The three men were taken into custody and will be interviewed in the presence of their attorney before charges are laid.
