Vendor murdered after quarrel over money
Three children are left mourning the death of their mother who was killed in front of the University Hospital of the West Indies yesterday at about 2 p.m.
When THE STAR went on the scene, many persons were tight-lipped about what happened.
However, one person told our news team that two men arrived on a bike and went into the shop, where the woman was, to buy some items.
"Dem go in the shop and buy something, and leave dem change. After a while dem go back and a quarrel for it, and likkle after that me hear bare gunshots," the person, who did not want to be named, said.
The deceased has been identified as 29-year-old Rochelle Anglin of Commons in the Papine area.
Rochelle, who has been a vendor in front of the hospital for many years, was in charge of her stall and her mother's shop at the time of the incident.
One fellow vendor told THE STAR that she is shaken by the incident because Anglin is someone she knew since she was a child.
"Mi know har from she a baby. Mi not even cry, me bawl especially when me see them a carry her body cross to the hospital," the vendor said.
Reports from the police are that the woman received six shots, mostly in her upper body. She was taken to the UHWI hospital where she was pronounced dead.
