The court heard that Davis threw bottles at the child, causing him to be badly injured.

The court was also told that when the police went to detain Davis, he resisted his arrest.

Davis, however, denied those claims.

The mother of the child appeared in court and told the prosecution that Davis needs evaluation.

He was further remanded and is to return to court on September 7.

Crooks told the court that he was also of the view that Davis needed to be evaluated.
