Two motorcyclists killed in road crashes
Two motorcyclists lost their lives in separate road crashes in western Jamaica on Sunday.
Those killed have been identified as 40-year-old Clifton Hines, otherwise called 'Rat' of Scarlett Hall in Falmouth, Trelawny, and 27-year-old Lynton Malcolm, waiter of Mt Piece district in Lucea, Hanover.
In the first incident, which the Falmouth police say was a hit and run accident, Hines was riding his motorcycle from Falmouth towards Salt Marsh about 5:45 a.m., on Sunday. Upon reaching a section of the Bogue Gate main road, a grey car travelling behind him reportedly knocked him from the bike and drove away
He was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
About 11:20 pm. Malcolm and a friend were travelling on his motorcycle along Seaview Drive in Lucea, Hanover, when he lost control of the motorcycle and crashed into another bike that was travelling in front of him.
The impact of the crash threw him on to a concrete utility pole, and he died on the spot. The pillion who was travelling with him was transported to hospital in serious condition.
