Three men arrested following shoot-out with cops

Three men have been arrested following a shoot-out with cops on Phillips Avenue/Russell Road, Hay Way Tree, St Andrew on Sunday.

Reports from the Half Way Tree police are that about 11:35a.m., a team of officers were conducting patrol in the area, when they signalled a heavily tinted motorcar to stop.

The driver refused to stop then later collided in a utility pole along the roadway.

The men alighted from the vehicle and opened fire at the police.

The gunmen were subsequently subdued, and a Sig Sauer 9mm pistol and a magazine containing five 9mm rounds of ammunition seized. 

The men who were aboard the vehicle were subsequently arrested.

Investigations are ongoing.
