Bailey extends deal with Nike
German Bundesliga star, Jamaica-born Leon Bailey, is celebrating a happy 21st birthday today, hours after extending his endorsement contract with international brand Nike.
His father Craig Butler broke the news to the world last night via social media: "Happy to after a long negotiation, sign my son Leon Bailey Butler to another long-term contract with Nike before his 21st birthday. Again, another promise kept. Nike Just Do It."
Bailey, who signed a three-year deal with Nike in January 2014 at a function held at the Spanish Court Hotel in New Kingston, has since become one of the most exciting young players in world football. After a number of impressive performances in the 2017-18 Bundesliga season the Bayer Leverkusen star's name is now being linked with several top clubs in Europe, including Chelsea, Roma and Real Madrid.
Bailey, born August 9, 1997, first made his mark in Europe playing for Belgian club Genk in the Europa League before his transfer to Bayer Leverkusen last year. He has so far scored nine times in 38 appearances for Leverkusen.
