Harriott promises to deliver for Holmwood
If Holmwood Technical are to reclaim their Girls Champs crown, Michae Harriott will need to play a big part.
Harriott finished second in the 100 and 200 metres in Class One last year and she hoping to score maximum points for her school this year.
Harriott was one of the top female sprinters last year and was bound for the IAAF World Under- 20 Championships in Tampere, Finland, but she got injured at the National Championships and failed to make the team. This season she has sparingly run as she has been saving for the Championships next week.
STAYING VERY FOCUS
“I know that I am one of the leaders of the team this season and I am staying very focused. I have not competed regularly this season as I want to ensure that I am fully fit going into the Championships, which will be my last year,” she said.” All season I was just sitting back and watching my competitors but I am really fully fit now and I am ready to take on all challengers whoever they are as we are warriors at Holmwood,” she said.
She only competed once this season, at the St Elizabeth Grace Invitational Meet where she topped the field In the Class One 100 metres in 12.35 seconds and she is eyeing a big time at Champs.
“My personal best in the 100 metres is 11.3 and I am eyeing 11.2 and I am confident that I can do so and also win the 200 metres.”
