Jahmiel for Artwalk festival
Downtown Kingston is gearing up for a vibrant explosion of art, fashion, and music as the Kingston Creative Artwalk Festival makes its highly anticipated return this Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Headlining the day's festivities is reggae/dancehall singer Jahmiel, delivering hits such as Strongest Soldier and A Better Tomorrow. His performance promises to be the ultimate highlight of a jam-packed day celebrating Kingston's creative heartbeat.
Fashion takes centre stage with the fourth edition of SAINT International's Downtown Kingston Model Search, a collaboration with Kingston Creative aimed at discovering fresh talent from local communities. The runway will showcase designs from Jamaica's top creatives, including Marsha-Rae McBean, Nadine Thompson, Marcia Adams, and Howard Janseen Graham, blending bold, avant-garde styles with local flair.
DJ Fenix, DJ Richie Sax, and Mystic have been tasked with spinning beats throughout the day, while art enthusiasts can dive into mural walks, guided tours, and bus excursions stopping at downtown Kingston's most iconic landmarks.
Donovan White, director of tourism, says the Artwalk Festival is redefining cultural tourism in Jamaica.
"By showcasing avant-garde fashion alongside our rich artistic heritage, we're positioning Kingston as a cutting-edge creative destination that honours tradition while embracing innovation," he said.
