Teen stabbed over light bulb
A Corporate Area man will remain in custody for at least another week before a bail application is heard, as he was remanded for reportedly stabbing two teens, one of whom is 14, over a light bulb.
Kelvin Bailey appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Monday for two counts of wounding with intent following an incident along Windward Road. Bailey is charged in a case and cross-case with Jermaine Osbourne and the 14-year-old, who are both charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
It is reported that on June 25, Bailey gave the 14-year-old a light bulb to charge and when he went to retrieve it, Bailey insisted that he received a different bulb. Bailey then went to the home of Osbourne, took up a knife and inflicted wounds. The minor tried to intervene and received stab wounds to the chest by Bailey.
The matter, which was mentioned before Parish Judge Venise Blackstock-Murray, was adjourned until September 5 when the matter is set for a committal hearing.
Bailey is to return to court on July 18 for a bail application. He was made the subject of a fingerprint order and his criminal records were requested.
